Sing to The Lord a New Song!
Have you ever thought about how mindlessly you learn the lyrics to songs played over and over and over again from recorded music, whether music streaming services, radio, or vinyl records, and from singing songs repeatedly with family or in church and other gatherings? Why not apply that logic to Memorization?
Decades ago, we began singing Scriptures in our PSALMS and PROVERBS Academy Homeschool in Omaha, Nebraska. Starting with thoss two books of the BIBLE, memorizing Scripture in Song became a creative, fun, and nearly effortless family exercise.1 A fond memory is from the morning my eldest son rushed to me, “Mama! I have a song.” Then, he sang ISAIAH, Chapter 1, Verse 18. An instant addition to our BIBLE memory banks (brains), ISAIAH 1:18 is scheduled to post as a BIBLE memory recordings for this website! Years later, Scriptures still flow as songs from my mind’s private streaming “juke box.”
One day, GOD Told me it was time to release these Scripture Songs: “Make a website!” Here is SING!
Worship: Sing to Memorize BIBLE posts acapella songs of (primarily) verbatim Scripture from translations in public domain. SING also houses acapella {mostly) verbatim historic words worth memorizing. Each recording repeats the same Scripture or Beloved Hymn or other Great Words three times to encourage ease and fun of memorizing His New Songs! An option to Loop a single recording is available for lengthy or complex passages. No great performances are offered; rather, rote memory exercises are posted for fun, insight, and memorization.
As a slow launch of future assistance memorizing words of GOD’s Insight, Worship: Sing to Memorize Lyrics of the Saints holds a place of formation and thought. Holy Spirit Shall Give music to documented words of His Saints found in hymns, Holy Scripture, and at such websites. Worship: Sing to Memorize Great Words is positioned to post memory songs of such historic words as the Gettysburg address, Rudyard Kiplings’s If, the preamble to the Constitution, Churchill’s We Shall Fight speech, and other wonderful writings. Memorizing great works across history serves to quicken the human mind and to augment intelligent communication with the poignance of words well spoken. Poetry and song encourage memorization. These words put into song facilitate memorization.
