Scripture: The Known GOD
Read from the BIBLE Book of ACTS, Chapter 17, verses 22 to 33 Paul’s Address at a rocky hill in Athens called Areopagus, a judicial body in Ancient Greece.
22 Then Paul stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and examined your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.
24 Therefore what you worship as something unknown, I now proclaim to you. God Who Made the world and everything in it Is the Lord of Heaven and earth and Does not Live in temples made by human hands. 25 Nor Is He Served by human hands, as if He Needed anything, because He Himself Gives everyone life and breath and everything else.
26 From one man He Made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He Determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands. 27 GOD Intended that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He Is not Far from each one of us. 28 ‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We Are His offspring.’ 29 Therefore, being offspring of GOD, we should not think that the Divine Being Is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by man’s skill and imagination.
30 Although GOD Overlooked the ignorance of earlier times, He now Commands all people everywhere to Repent. 31 For He Has Set a Day when He Will Judge the world with Justice by the Man He has appointed. He Has Given Proof of this to everyone by Raising Him from the dead.”
32 When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some began to mock him, but others said, “We want to hear you again on this topic.” 33 At that, Paul left the Areopagus. 34 But some joined him and believed, including Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others who were with them.
Prayer
Lord, Forgive Your People for bowing to the followers of false gods. Forgive each of us for allowing flawed reasoning that tolerates frank rebellion against You, The Living GOD! Forgive faulty delusions that tolerating belief in false gods brings peace, love, absence of war, and kumbaya.
Thank You, O GOD, for Your LongSuffering, Your Lovingkindness, and Your TenderMercies that Endure Patiently with Your Love and Your Grace, the fallen, suffering sin nature of Your Created People who are easily deluded. Many believe lies into which they are born. Many believe human reasoning excels without need for GOD. Others readily abandon allegiance to You, neglect devotion to Your Son, and quench Holy Spirit through complacency, stupor, ignorance, or false confidence.
O GOD, throughout the history of man, human beings have waxed and waned their devotion and dedication to the GOD of gods, King of kings, the Great I AM-I AM! Yet, You Love us. As we watch this world invasion by sadly deceived moslem terrorists, please Draw each of them and every human being to Your Son to Lift enemy scales off blinded human eyes that they may SEE! O GOD, Unplug ears shut by demon gods that Opened ears May Hear Truth. Thank You, GOD, for TRUTH! Thank You, GOD, for Giving us The Truth, The Way, The Light!
Praise You, GOD for Leading us, Guiding us, never Forsaking us.
Give us Strength, Courage, and Sound Minds with which to Serve You for Your Will and Your Ways, by Your Understanding and Your Thoughts.
In Jesus’ Name, we expel demon spirits from any place in our world, our countries, our States, our cities, our homes, and our lives. Fill us always with Your Holy Spirit to Guide and Guard our bodies, souls, and spirits.
