Prayer Is Holy Fuel

SCRIPTURE
ISAIAH Chapter 56 Verse 7 American Standard Version (ASV) “My House Shall Be Called a House of Prayer for all peoples.”

QUOTE
Edward McKendree Bounds: EMBounds On Prayer,1 pages 11 & 12
The earth is changed, revolutionized;
  angels move on more powerful, more rapid wings;
  and GOD’s policy is shaped when the prayers of His people are more numerous and more efficient . . .
“The man who has done the most and the best praying is the most immortal because PRAYERS DO NOT DIE [emphasis added]. . . . the prayers live before GOD and GOD’s Heart is set on them. . . .

When GOD’s church comes into its mightiest inheritance of the mightiest faith and mightiest prayer, the angelic days of powerful activity occur.

THOUGHT CHALLENGE
Prayer Is Holy Fuel for the Heavenly hosts.

DISCUSSION
As gasoline and electricity are fuel to the vehicles of our day so is prayer fuel to GOD’s Heavenly army. In the spiritual battle that rages, we desire the mightiest vehicles. A small two-seater car that gets 30 miles to the gallon is fuel efficient, no doubt, but how does it perform on unexpected rough terrain compared to an all-terrain vehicle, or how does its passengers fare in moving collisions as compared to armored vehicles? The performance and protection of these mega-vehicles cost dearly in fuel but ponder this question:  would you want your loved one to cross a hostile desert under enemy fire in a fuel-efficient, two-seater, light-weight vehicle or in a fuel-guzzling armored tank? The answer is obvious.

Jesus Told the Parable of the storehouse finally filled to capacity. The owner lauded his accomplishment: now, he would be able to do whatever he wants. Yet, he died that very night. In return for all his work filling it, the storehouse of treasures did nothing for him. Instead, Jesus Bids us to store up Heavenly treasures. The fuel of the prayers in supplication of the righteous man avails much:2 It outlives his time on earth.  I am convinced the prayers of my grandparents, my great grandparents, and my great great grandparents are the direct fuel for the salvation and protection of myself and my family. Ancestors who never saw me, my siblings, or my children on this earth, yet supplicated in many prayers Released GOD’s Power on earth for each of us. E. M. Bounds said our prayers outlive us.  It is Truth.

The Old Testament (OT) of The BIBLE Gives us shadows and types of the New Testament (NT) and of things Heavenly. The Levites who were OT priests spent their lives serving GOD. The other eleven tribes of Israel were called to bring their tithes and offerings to the storehouses. “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine House, and prove Me now herewith, Saith the Lord of hosts, if I Will not Open you the windows of Heaven, and Pour you out a Blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” The priests’ provisions were in their GOD-given portions of the Storehouse riches. The life of the priest was fueled from the Storehouse.

The New Testament calls followers of Christ as His royal priesthood. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” I PETER 2:9

The Heavenly type or shadow of the tithes and offerings filling the storehouses is this: the Heavenly hosts of angels are fueled from the storehouse of our prayers.  Reread E. M. Bounds’ statement:  “angels move on more powerful, more rapid wings.”  He wrote this, too, “GOD’s conquering days are when the saints have given themselves to the mightiest prayer.  . . .  When GOD’s House on earth Is a House of Prayer, then GOD’s House in Heaven Is busy and powerful in its plans and movements.”

Pray for “the angelic days of powerful activity.” As you seek GOD in prayer to Release the Power of His “conquering days,” you add fuel to the Storehouse for that release.  I THESSALONIANS 5:17 says praying without ceasing is GOD’s Will.

Arm the saints!
Fuel the army!
Dare to be fuel – ish
Pray daringly
Cease not praying
