QUOTE
Derek Prince taught that the seventh item of the armor of GOD is prayer.

Referring to EPHESIANS chapter 6 listing of the six items of the Armor of GOD, Derek Prince gave the following teaching: The only weapon of aggression there at all is the Sword of the Spirit, and that only reaches as far as your arm can reach. I’ve often suggested that when you have six good things listed in the Scriptures, that’s not the end. If there are six and they’re good, there’s going to be seven. And I believe that this is true in this case here, and I believe the seventh, and the vital instrument of aggression, is listed in the 18th verse. . . . This is the weapon which Charles Wesley, in one of his hymns, called “the weapon of all prayer.” And I want to suggest to you that prayer is the greatest aggressive, spiritual weapon that God Has Committed to us and that we need to understand and learn how to use the weapon of all prayer.2

DISCUSSION

Prayer is talking with GOD. The brains of human beings are very active. We are thinking and thinking, continually thinking. We think about what we shall do, what we are doing, and what we did. We think about what others do or did: why, how, could I, makes no sense, is pretty genius, never would I, etc.

Instructed to pray always and to pray without ceasing, can you think how that might happen?
What if your thoughts were turned continually to GOD? What if you talk with Him instead of yourself?

Conversation is two-way.
Surely, you have been frustrated to be with someone who never stops talking. Listening is part of the relationship.
Likewise, how easily can you get to know someone who never talks? Isn’t it frustrating when you know a friend is upset, but he won’t share a word with you? Sharing your thoughts, experiences, and concerns is part of relationship.

Prayer forges relationship with The Living GOD. JEREMIAH 33: 3 Tells us that if we call to GOD, He Will Answer us and tell us Great and Mighty things we do not know. He Wants to hear you. And, He Wants you to hear Him, too.

At bedtime, try telling GOD about your day. Then, quiet your mind to listen to hear Him.
In the morning, share with Him your concerns, and ask Him to Guide you today. Might you, also, pursue hushing your thoughts long enough to hear His Voice? Listen as you prepare for you day, drive to work or school, or wait your turn. Jesus Told us that His sheep Hear His Voice. His Word Is True. Prayer Is talking with GOD, and Listening to GOD.

The Creator of the Universe and Lover of your soul Calls you to be in relationship with Him.
